SelectTech Selected to Develop ROCC for AFLCMC
On June 14, 2019, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Mobility Directorate (C-17 System Program Office) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH, awarded SelectTech Services a new $5.5M contract for the base (development) period of the Roll-On Conference Capsule (ROCC) Program.
This initial award will complete the design, development, fabrication, integration, test, and certification of a "First Article" ROCC. The ROCC is configured as a two-module USAF command and control capability that will be loaded into the cargo compartment of the C-17A Globemaster III for transport of, and use by, personnel during flight operations. The ROCC will be certified to permit occupancy and use during all phases of C-17 flight. It provides a private, enclosed work area and rest environment, physically separated from the flight crew and other passengers and cargo. The private area is referred to as the Senior Leader Suite (SLS) and the other module is the Conference Room/Staff Area (CR/SA). The ROCC modules will interface with USAF's Steel Eagle Communications Suite (also designed, built and sustained by SelectTech personnel) to provide end users with comprehensive communications connectivity during their C-17 travel.
The contract includes provisions for future Government options to convert the certified First Article ROCC into the first production ROCC, to build a second production ROCC, and to support and sustain both ROCCs for up to three years. The SelectTech-government team will kick off program activities in early July with the goal of delivering the First Article ROCC for USAF airworthiness testing in late summer or early fall of 2020.
