ForgeX aims to improve mission responsiveness and reduce logistical lead times

3D Printing Shelter

SelectTech Services Corporation, a leading provider of innovative composite shelter systems, today announced the launch of its expandable composite 3D printing shelter, ForgeX, developed in partnership with AEVEX.

This self-contained and environmentally controlled additive manufacturing solution is designed for rapid deployment in locations where traditional infrastructure is limited, giving tactical forces and industrial operators the ability to manufacture critical parts, tools and even unmanned aircraft systems on-site — dramatically reducing logistical delays and improving mission responsiveness.

Key features of this product include:

  • Expeditionary design: The module is built with lightweight composite materials, making it 463L pallet-compatible and weighing in at under 10,000 pounds.
  • Rapid deployment: The system is engineered to be fully deployable in minutes, transitioning from a compact container to a 320 square foot, environmentally controlled work area.
  • Off-grid capability: The workshop is operable off-grid with an integrated generator provision supported by a 100-amp system, ensuring continuous production, regardless of power infrastructure. It also includes Starlink connectivity for remote data transfer and communication.
  • Integrated technology: The unit is equipped with customizable printer options and includes pre-programmable designs for specific needs, such as drones and specialized components. All network, communications, compute and storage systems are self-contained.
  • USA-sourced: All components utilized in the workshop are commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and USA-sourced.

“In today’s contested environments, waiting days or weeks for a critical replacement part is no longer an option,” said Curran Mulvihill, vice president of operations and strategy at SelectTech. “Our new 3D printing workshop puts the power of sophisticated manufacturing directly into the hands of a warfighter or remote technician. It’s light, expandable and fully mission-capable off-grid, embodying true expeditionary logistics.”
